Syria team

Synaps’ team of Syrian researchers grapples with the social and economic dynamics that are quietly reshaping Syria: from environmental degradation to the transformation of urban economies to evolving models for civic engagement. We draw on various areas of expertise including psychology, sociology, activism, and social work, and build our analysis through thousands of conversations with Syrians across the social and geographic spectrum. Our work draws upon perspectives as diverse as farmers in Hassakeh to schoolteachers in Damascus and businesspeople from Beirut to Berlin.
